Breaking Through

 

I                        Why wax?

  Because there is solidity.

 

  Why is the blue obliterated by brightness?

 Because of

    those who see w/ the

         hidden indigo of their

         mind’s eye.

 

    Who made the cracks

       in the ground below

           the sunsetting sky?

  The diffusion of light.

  The weight of light falling through space.

 

What is the sound I am hearing?

The trill of a piano next door.

 

 

II                       Where is the world behind the world?

   It’s only the lingering memory

           of the tsunami.

 

Who can see god in this picture?

Those w/ the experience of skin.

 

   What is an emotion?

 A small patch of blue in peril.

 

 

III                        Why a cold wave slap in the face?

   Because shape demands it.

 

   What can one say about art?

That it represents the unsayable.

 

When did the animals return?

When the lingering image of her brushwork

          was inspired by her deepest

                    inner rhythm.
